Describe how having a choice affected your trail experience and learning.
Having the opportunity to choose our own trail for a day was awesome. Not only did I really want to climb the 1000 steps, but in case I didn’t get my first preference, the other 2 options seemed fun as well. Which I really enjoy about Galileo – everything is fun! Surprisingly I didn’t select the trail according to where my friends went. I chose the trail which I wanted because I knew I would enjoy it no matter who else came to the 1000 steps. Turns out I was completely right. I had so much fun and for the first time, I was with John. So I got to get to know him a little better since I haven’t been in any of his classes. I learnt he can speak german! It was fun to be able to talk to him in german 🙂
Health Journal
I think overall, I believe I am pretty healthy and active. We don’t have much junk food at home, and both my parents are very active. So it’s easy for me to stay physically healthy. My sleep patterns are quite regular- although I do wake up throughout the night, a lot. You can obviously tell my mood lifted whilst in Bright with my dad. However I’m happy with my total average to be 4. What I have realized is that throughout the school week, my meals are pretty much the same everyday. It might be nice, and maybe healthier to mix it up a little. I have attached my health diary below.
Team Project and Mini-trail Presentation
I’m feeling confident with my team project group and the mini-trail. I think we are all excited to be able to dig a little deeper, ask questions and gain some more knowledge on Psychology. If I could change something about our team dynamic, I would probably try to have better communication outside of class. I feel like we don’t talk or work enough whilst not being in class. We will need to have a discussion on how to achieve good communication whilst not together. The group g-mail account is a great way to update each other, so I think we just need to work on that for a while. I can contribute by, as I said before, discussing our ways of communication. I can also help plan our research notes and the next steps.
Overall I really enjoyed Health Week 🙂
Hi Tori.
Choosing your trails according to interest seems to be a good way to go; I bet John would have enjoyed your German conversation 🙂
You make insightful reflections on both your group and your health diary. A successful week it seems,
Cheers,
Carly
